Transfer Your License

Go to the internet and type in your address bar:

https://dlcp.dc.gov/Security

Scroll down until you see Licensee, look to the right and select the  +  symbol

Under that is License Renewal

Under License Renewal is Security License Designation/Transfer Request

Select that and fill in your information.

You will need to upload the following documents:

1. Upload a copy of your current License (gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
2. Upload front-facing passport-sized photo (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
3. Upload 1st page of Notarized Arrest Affidavit (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
4. Upload 2nd page of the notarized Arrest Affidavit – Residence and Employment History (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
5. Upload Notarized Authorization to Release Information Form (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
6. Upload Fingerprint Receipts (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png ONLY)
7. Make your $30 payment and keep your receipt!
